Lynette Jankowski Starkey- A former State and Regional Champion, Lynette has been the director and instructor of the Sundancers for over 20 years. Through the years, she has worked with hundreds of twirlers at all levels. For the last 16 years, she has coached the Sundancers to a Florida State Twirling Championship title. She has also coached several Sundancers to individual titles such as, Miss Majorette of Florida, Miss Majorette of the Southeast, State and Regional titles. On the National level, several Sundancers have won titles on all levels and have many Top Ten finishes. Besides coaching, Lynette is a well respected NBTA twirling judge. For several years, she has judged at the national competition, including the World Twirl- off Championships. Lynette is a UCF graduate.
Michele Phillips- Michele has been an important part of the Sundancers since moving to Orlando from Massachuetts. Before coming to Florida, she had several years of experience coaching with NEMA (New England Majorette Association). Now with the Sundancers, Michele teaches Beginner and Intermediate classes and works with many of the Sundancers on individual routines. Her daughter, Alexa has competed many years and is now in the Advanced competition level. Michele lives in the Moss Park area with her husband, twin boys and her daughter.
Alexa Phillips- Alexa is a new addition to our staff, but not new to the Sundancers. She has been on the National team every year since moving to Florida at the age 8. She is now the feature twirler at Lake Nona High School. She has collected many State, Regional and National titles, including being crowded 2010 Jr. Miss Majorette of Florida. She is currently one of Florida's top competitors. We are proud to have her as a Sundancer assistant teacher. She is available for private lessons to those girls just starting competition routines and will be working on novelty routines of all levels.
Tahlia Brunner- Tahlia is a former Sundancer and her daughter, Ashlyn is currently on the competition team. Tahlia has work with the younger Sundancers for many years. She will be assisting during class, camps and clinics. She is available to work new beginners on individual routines. Her specialty is modeling.
Cindy McIntire- We are so pleased to add Cindy to the staff this year. Cindy is a former UCF Majorette and DMA twirling champion. Her daughters, Jordan and Sara, are members of the Sundancers competition team. She has a strong dance background and has many years of performance experience. Cindy will be teaching the level I and II class on Monday nights, as well as teaching at clinics and camps. She is available for private lessons and will be a great help at competitions.
Jamie Adams- Jamie has twirled with the Sundancers since the age of 7. She was Intermediate Miss Majorette of Florida and Beginner Miss Majorette of the Southeast. Many of the Sundancers Pom Pom routines were choreographed by Jamie. She teaches at most Sundancers Twirl Day and works as a guest instructor for our competition team.
